March 16: the week No came to stay
I figured No deserved its own post – amIright? or amIright?
Well, No has come to stay. It first showed up in a funny sort of way with ZBL trying it out with us (or so it seemed). He would say “No” in a “trying it out” and not sure of what he was doing, sort of way, using a soft, unsure of himself voice. I laughed so hard and called John and SPL to come hear as it was definitely a memorable moment (but I knew at the time that I was probably playing with fire at the same time – second child syndrome :-).
So John and SPL came up stairs and heard what I heard and laughed as well. And Z laughed too.
Fast forward a few weeks and No has become the real deal. No more soft-pedaling. No more tentative. No more not sure of how to use this word.
Z uses it with definitive, assertive, clarity now (even in April and definitely now in July as I post this).
But the early days of No for Z were definitely memorable and I wanted to capture some of that in this blog.
I still find it funny that yes came first and was ubiquitous from December until March and then after No came into the picture, Yes faded out.
And so heralds the approaching 2nd birthday. Bring it twos!
